Quick Update

PJ is changing so much lately. He still has no interest at all in crawling but he is getting more and more advanced in "cruising". Tonight I made him a mini obstacle course with several toys he could walk around with while holding on to them. He was really proud of himself. And, he even stood alone for almost 10 seconds...until he realized mommy wasn't holding on to him anymore. I think we are in trouble now. :) He has started waving but backwards, to himself only. We have also been working on sign language like using "more" for when he would like more food on his tray. He is a pro at turning on and off the light switches and he is very accustomed to his bedtime routine. He really loves his cars and makes a "car" sound when he pushes them around - the bible class teachers tell me that he does this in class too. Words that he has said: mama, dada, quack, red, moo And, dad has been working on him giving high fives, so next time you see him stick up your hand and ask him for a five.

Pictures with mom...she made me dress up

I love it! Where did all his teeth go?

We call this one his "song leader" picture. This is what he does when we sing at church.

Noises from PJ

This is the first attempt I've made at a video. Hope it works.

9 Month Birthday

Our little man has grown so much. His personality is developing more and more and he is such a funny guy! We are so thankful that God has given us such a perfect addition to our family.
Pierson had his 9 month check up and here are his latest stats:
  • Weight: 19lbs 14oz (38%)
  • Length: 28 inches (40%)
  • Head: 18 1/2 (89%)
  • 8th tooth came in on 7/3/09

I was pretty surprised about his weight and height being in such a low percentile since he has always been in the upper range. The dr said he was just averaging out especially since he is so much more active. PJ is still not interested in crawling much (although he will if he has too) but he is definitely cruising. One of his favorite activities is to walk back and forth along side the couch in search of the tv remote. His doctor said that a lot of babies that sleep mainly on their backs don't necessarily crawl - I found this pretty interesting.

We were told at his last appt to expand his diet and here is PJ eating everything he can get his hands on. In just this last week he has finally decided to start picking up food on his own! We are still working on using the sippy cup for drinking and not throwing though.

I forgot to take my camera to our 4th of July activities but here is PJ at the end of the night. He did see the beginning of the fireworks show but was asleep within a couple of minutes and didn't wake up until morning.

I finally got him to "try" the Texas Tech paci. He mainly just likes to chew on it or throw it.

This is the first month that I've had a difficult time getting him to sit still for his monthly portrait with Pedro. Here are some of the outtakes:
