PJ's first birthday party

I can't believe that I didn't get pictures of all the hard work I put into decorating and making all of the "ball" treats. The theme of PJ's party was "Let's have a ball". There was a sign on the door that read "roll on in", a ball pit, lots of balls to play with and lots of "ball" treats for everyone to eat. (sausage balls, oreo balls, melon balls, cheese ball, popcorn balls, rice crispy treat balls, ect.) Thanks to all that helped me out, for all that came and for all the special messages and gifts for our little man. You all helped make his first birthday special. 1st bite of his cupcake...I'm pretty sure this was his first major bite of sugar
Want to share??
Here is some for dad
and for mom
He ate the whole cupcake...yummy
PJ surrounded by girls! There was one other little boy at his party but the girls do tend to flock towards PJ.
He did better than I expected with opening his gifts.
One of his favorites

12 months old

Oh my! This little precious boy has had several days of birthday celebrations. Thursday was PJ's actual birthday and he had some special moments celebrating at school. He got a birthday sign and gift (bubbles) from his teachers and shared special snack with his friends. Mom and Dad took him to Babies R Us to pick out a new car seat. While we were there he got a birthday crown, which he has been wearing on and off since Thursday. On Saturday, we gave him some new puzzles and a ride-on car. On Sunday, we had a big birthday bash with family and friends....that post to come soon! I borrowed a ball pit for PJ's party and we let him try it out first. It was a BIG hit.
Push car from mom and dad
He thought the sounds that the car made was super funny.
Lots of puzzles from Mom and Dad

What a good nap taker...sometimes. :)
Birthday lunch at school....yes he does eat it all
Excited about his birthday sign
Playing with friends at school
Special birthday snack...puffs.
Tired after a full day of celebrating his birthday at school.
PJ tried out several car seats before we selected this one as his new "big boy" seat.

Busy boy

Here are some random pictures of PJ that I thought were blog worthy. Enjoy... PJ playing with a teapot that I played with when I was a little girl.
He is rolling a ball to Paw-Paw here. I feel bad that we had the camera out and I didn't get more pictures with my parents.

PJ, Nana M and sweet cousin Rylie
PJ is not ever put down when we go visit the family! Here he is with Lorna and Rylie.
Lorna, Rylie, PJ, and Aunt Christi
Playing the piano with dad and Rylie. Rylie loves her some PEEEDAAAAA and we love her too.
Boy does my little one love to make some music. He got so excited when we figured out that he could bang the two sticks together and make a noise. I wish this picture had sound effects.
Why do babies like to get into cramped spaces?
PJ loves his "Nelmno". We now have two (thanks Ms. Ta) elmos and PJ seems to like both of them without a preference..yeah.

Caught red-handed!!!!

11 months old

Here is a picture of him holding tight to his new friend "Nelmno"

Yikes! Our baby is going to be turning 1 year old in a few weeks! Where did all the time go? Right now PJ seems to more social than he has ever been. He is forever waving at people and trying to talk and get their attention. He has also become very lovable and wants to dish out hugs. PJ is definitely a walker now and has finally decided that he can crawl if he has to get to something. He is not able to push himself in to a standing position unless he can pull up on something but I'm sure he'll get there. He is still an excellent eater! If there was an award for that in his class at school, I'm sure he would be the winner. They always tell me how much he LOVED his food and signed for more, more, more. We bought him a little Elmo, whom he loves! He calls him "Nelmno" and hugs him tight whenever he gets his little hands on him. Too cute.

Labor Day '09 Fun

Today was such a fun day. We first went to Chick-fil-A for lunch and all got a free sandwhich because we wore our Texas Tech shirts. It was so crowded in there but well worth the free meal. We had kind of a lazy, napping afternoon and then spent the evening at the park. What a great day of memories.

This is his new "I'm so Funny" face. He has been making this one for a couple of weeks but this is the first time we were able to capture it to film.
PJ was so very proud of using the fork...we let him eat with his hands and then we used the fork at the end to help him. After all the food was gone, we let him try it out and he scooped it right into his plate and then into his mouth. Guess I have to stop being a control freak and let him try with some real food.
He played this game with dad where he would take dad's hat off and when dad said to put it on his head, he would...or at least try. I've been trying to teach him to touch his head, ears, eyes, ect. when I call the names out but it has not worked one bit. But I guess he is learning something if he knew where his head was. :)
Now, how did he get up so high?

sWe have PJ walking on our home video but can't figure out how to upload it to blogger so this will have to do. We had to take his shoes off so that he could even attempt to walk on the uneven ground but you get the picture.

PJ and Daddy

PJ is still very much a momma's boy but he sure does have a soft spot for dad too. Here are just a couple of pictures from yesterday. They make my heart swell. :) Isn't that the sweetest thing you've ever seen?
Helping dad change light bulbs. I love how it looks like PJ is really taking it all in.
This is the only picture I got of PJ on his first day back at preschool (9/1/09). I was really into the matching outfit that day. This year he has Ms. Adrianne, Ms. Anne, and Ms. Laura and they LOVE babies so much. We are so lucky to have them teach and take care of our little one for part of the day. A big thank you goes to those wonderful ladies.
